About

Photo of Eli Azuri - Male mental health OT

One of the best aspects of being a mental health OT is forming connections with people. I am inspired by the people I meet, by the capacity and creativity that they and their loved ones show when faced with challenges. My warmth, openness and straightforward nature allow me to quickly build rapport with clients and their families.

I believe effective therapy can potentially be done anywhere, from a client’s living room to the great outdoors. I place a high value on bringing people together, and have experience running social groups and group therapy sessions.

I graduated with honours as an Occupational Therapist from the University of the Sunshine Coast, with my honours group project earning me the QSuper Undergraduate Innovation Award. I am fortunate to have lived and worked around the world, spending nearly 10 years living in London, working in the creative field as well as supporting adults with ASD for the National Autistic Society. It was this work that inspired me to study occupational therapy.

I am passionate about working with individuals in the mental health sector and supporting them on their path. My extensive life experience has given me a real respect for difference, and I bring this to my work. I speak three languages, and my warm nature makes it easy for me to connect to people. I currently live with my family on small acreage in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and have learned to take mowing grass in my stride…
